Teresa C. Long, MD, MPH, has joined the college as special advisor of Community Engagement & Partnership. Dr. Long began her career in public health as a physician specialist at San Francisco’s Department of Public Health, where she created innovative perinatal AIDS guidelines. She later joined Columbus Public Health in 1986 as assistant health commissioner and medical director, and in 2002 became health commissioner of Columbus.
Dr. Long was awarded the college’s 2017 Thompson Public Health Award shortly before retiring as Columbus health commissioner in 2018.
