Health Impact Ohio Joins Alliance Network for Health Professions Week

This month, Health Impact Ohio participated in Health Professions Week as a member of the 2022 Alliance Network. We are proud to share that we had the unique opportunity to highlight the Community Health Worker (CHW) profession in this nationwide collaboration with other healthcare and education organizations.
Health Professions Week showcased a variety of resources surrounding the various healthcare professions, including YouTube playlists, social media posts, online resources, interactive games, live events and more. Health Impact Ohio curated a collection of resources and content to contribute to the offerings showcased on the Health Professions Week resource page and social media outlets. We are thrilled to be able to share these resources with the community and further highlight the CHW profession.

Health Impact Ohio created a playlist of video content to share throughout Health Professions Week, highlighting CHWs from all walks of life. The following video interviews include our Central Ohio Pathways HUB CHWs speaking about their motivations behind becoming CHWs and their experiences working as CHWs in their communities, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Health Impact Ohio’s Education Director, Dr. Tanikka Price, shared her personal experience of receiving help from a CHW, later becoming a CHW, and now training CHWs today in the following video.

We are also grateful to have been given the opportunity to recognize some of our outstanding CHWs who are veterans and now working in their communities along with CHWs with disabilities and how they navigate helping clients in their communities through social media posts on both Instagram and Twitter.
